On October 23, 2006, Texas Regional Bancshares, Inc. (the Company) issued a press release announcing that Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria, S.A. (BBVA) received regulatory approval from the Federal Reserve Bank of New York for the acquisition of the Company. The press release is attached as an exhibit to this Current Report on Form 8-K and is incorporated herein by reference.
