Item 8.01 Other Events.
On May 27, 2021, Unum Group announced that its Board of Directors has authorized an increase in the quarterly dividend to be paid on its common stock. The new quarterly dividend rate of 30.0 cents per common share, or $1.20 per share on an annual basis, will be effective with the dividend expected
to be paid in the third quarter of 2021. A copy of the news release concerning the dividend increase is filed herewith as Exhibit 99.1 and incorporated herein by reference.
