GOL Launches Flights to Petrolina
São Paulo, February 14, 2005 – GOL Linhas Aéreas Inteligentes S.A. (NYSE: GOL and Bovespa: GOLL4), Brazil’s low-fare, low-cost airline, today announced that it will commence daily flights to Petrolina (State of Pernambuco) on February 25, 2005. The new service will offer round trip service between Petrolina and Recife.
“As Brazil’s leading producer of fruit, Petrolina is an important economic hub essential both within Brazil as well as internationally. GOL’s new routes will help contribute to the further development of the region’s commercial relationships,” says Tarcísio Gargioni, GOL’s Marketing and Services Vice President.
In addition to contributing to 30% of the region’s overall export fruit volume, Petrolina is Brazil’s second leading wine producer with 2.5 crops per year, a factor that also continues to attract the attention of the global business community.
